They are free to do. The consultant makes money off of people ordering at your party, which is how they make their money. The only exception may be for bachelorette parties as those are not usually very lucrative for the consultant. And it is usually refundable as long as the money does a qualifying amount.
Ordering is private and confidential. Most of the guests who are hesitant to go to these types of parties are hesitant because they don’t realize that nobody but the consultant will know her order. But with these parties, confidentiality and privacy are key! Your consultant knows that and keeps that sacred for your guests. You will need to provide a separate ordering room to keep with that standard.
Your role as a hostess: Its pretty easy to throw one of these parties. Most consultants will suggest you keep the snacks and beverages simple so you can enjoy the party as well and not have to play hostess the whole time. A few snacks (even ask people to bring as well!) a punch that everyone can enjoy and you are good to go! The consultant will take care of the rest.
How does the party work for bachelorette parties? The hostess will generally play one or two games, so if you want more than that, the consultant will usually suggest you put those together yourself. While the parties are a great time and a great way to fill the brides honeymoon getaway fun bag, they are not just entertainment, they are also the consultants means of income. A great way to insure your consultant gets the most for her time is to take a donation for the bridal booty. Then the bride can order for herself and everyone else at the party are free to order as well. This makes sure the bride gets taken care of and so does the consultant for her time.
Do the items go to the hostess or the customer? Company’s differ on this point, but usually the cheapest shipping price to your guests is the price where the items come to you and you distribute them out. But don’t worry! They are separately packaged and not visible to see insuring your guests confidentiality.
What do you get as a hostess? That is different depending on the company. However all of the companies give something free to the hostess to give her incentives to have a really great party. The better the party, the more you get, which in turn helps the consultant too, so its a win win for all!
